Oversight, Consultants & Advisories
CHIBI is a stand-alone entity that reports to the Vice Dean for Science Vivian Lee, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A.
CHIBI faculty have academic appointments in a variety of departments. CHIBI works together with the corresponding Department Chairs to make sure all appointments and progress oversight are done consistently with SoM policies.
CHIBI is currently charged by Vice Dean Abramson with the responsibility to lead a broad advisory group of senior faculty who will produce retention, promotion and tenure recommendations for informatics faculty that are consistent with national standards in the field of informatics.
CHIBI’s role in the CTSA is overseen by the Executive Committee and milestones tracking is accomplished by the CTSI milestones and tracking committee. CHIBI faculty participate actively in these committees.
CHIBI works with and participates with the Research Informatics Technology Committee to ensure research informatics technology needs are identified and met across the institution.
CHIBI also works with the Associate Dean for Collaborative Science to ensure that informatics services are of the highest quality and meet the needs of the NYULMC research community.
CHIBI has an external advisory board with distinguished informatics experts. 2010 advisory board membership:

- Perry Miller M.D., Ph.D.

The CTSA external board of advisors meets annually at NYC and offers recommendations and strategic guidance to NYULMC leadership and CHIBI to help CHIBI achieve its mission.
