Neil Rambo, Curator and Chair of the Department of the Ehrman Medical Library, and Director of the NYU Health Sciences Libraries and Knowledge Informatics, assumed this role in November 2010. He has extensive experience in health sciences library management and administration.
He has conducted research in and taught public health informatics, focusing on information needs and uses, web-based resource development, and evaluation. Much of his more recent work has focused on the role of libraries and librarians in the scholarly communication system, particularly on emerging roles such as data curation.
He is currently working with many groups at NYULMC and NYU Washington Square to establish a Division of Knowledge Informatics within the Department of the Ehrman Medical Library to manage knowledge resources across the Medical Center. He seeks to establish the library as both a service center and an informatics laboratory and supporting collaboration among librarians and informaticians.
