Peter M. Kilbridge
- Chief Medical Information Officer
Peter M. Kilbridge, M.D., was appointed Chief Medical Information Officer at NYU Langone Medical Center and Associate Professor of Pediatrics in July, 2009. He attended college at Harvard University and medical school at Case Western Reserve University. He completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric cardiology, both at Boston Children’s Hospital; and a National Library of Medicine fellowship in medical informatics at Massachusetts General Hospital. He subsequently worked at First Consulting Group, specializing in the use of clinical computer systems to enhance patient safety. Dr. Kilbridge then served as an Associate Chief Information Officer for Duke University Health System, where he developed an automated surveillance system to detect adverse drug events in hospitalized patients with funding from AHRQ; and an online reporting system for safety event reporting. Most recently, Dr. Kilbridge served as the Medical Director for Information Technology at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Washington University, where he oversaw a CPOE implementation; and as an AHRQ-funded investigator, he developed expert systems for adverse event detection in pediatric patients.
